Everything Under the Son

Because JESUS is my everything

On a Lighter Note

Thursday, July 08, 2010

I know my last post was pretty heavy, so I decided I would post something lighter today.  For today, "lighter" also means useless.  I have nothing big or profound, only pictures of a typical summer lunch around our home.  I try to make it at least LOOK fun, because the truth is, it's hard to have a very big lunch repertoire on a tight budget with kids who like different things!

So, here it is...what you've all been wondering about me I am sure!  Here is a photo of a typical summer lunch at Anne's Kitchen:

grapes, cucumber slices with light Italian dressing,
a grilled cheese sandwich, and Annie's organic bunny crackers
(I buy plastic toothpicks and/or mini forks at the dollar store and the kids
love using them to eat their veggies.  That's what you see sticking out of the cucumber!)

There you have it!  Nothing fabulous, but good food that my kids enjoy.  Well, Levi decided he wasn't in the mood for cucumber today, but Natalie was more than willing to step in and help him out by eating his portion after she finished her own.  Such a nice big sister!

What about you, what's for lunch?  I challenge you to get creative! :)

We had a friend once make us grilled PB&J. It was delicious! So for a twist on something your kids already like......
