Everything Under the Son

Because JESUS is my everything

This and That

Sunday, November 15, 2009

Sorry for the delay, I am definitely going to post a bit of gratitude for each of the days in November.

Thursday, November 12 - I am thankful for the sunshine. It warms my face, but more importantly it warms my soul. There is something about the sun shining that can make even the hardest of days seem better, and can make even the best of days better, too. Thank you Lord for the sun!

Friday, November 13 - I am so thankful for Fridays. They signal the end of a crazy week, and the beginning of a weekend...and we all know that weekends are family time. Weekends are the special days when Nathaniel is off from work and we can all hang out together, doing everything and nothing. Thank God for Fridays!

Saturday, November 14 - I am thankful for yummy Chinese food. I love some delicious stir fry chicken with tons of veggies....makes my tummy oh.so.happy!

Sunday, November 15 - I am thankful for Sundays...the signal of a new week and a fresh start. Last week was challenging for me on many fronts...tears were shed every day...but today is Sunday! A day of worship, a day of family, and a day of new beginnings. I'm looking forward to a better week!

Tomorrow, you can be sure that I will post my gratitude for the dentist. I have two broken teeth, and am to a place where I cannot wait any longer to go in and have them fixed. I HATE going to the dentist. I had some nightmare experiences as a child, and have been terrified to go ever since. But tomorrow I must go. I have no idea how I am going to pay for it, but I am going. Pray for me, that I can be brave and that the problems can be fixed quickly and cheaply!

UPDATE: I showed you the turkeys that I made for the children. We have been adding feathers each night filled with the things they are thankful for. Here is the before picture of our turkeys:

Now, our turkeys look like this:

We are having a great time with this little project! What a great representation of the MANY blessings we have been given! It is exciting to think that we still have almost 2 weeks to continue adding feathers to our turkeys! Gobble Gobble!

***************************************************************************

On a completely different topic, I wanted to share a couple of other things with you. I shared a link a couple of days ago to a fabulous blog post about love. We are fixing to begin the Love rule in our home, and we will be memorizing 1 Corinthians 13: 4-7 as a family. If you haven't read the post, please scroll down and click the link...you won't be sorry! I had this sign made and it is on an easel on our dining room table where we will see it every single day. I love it!! What do you think?

And speaking of signs, I don't think I ever shared with you the sign I finally had made for Carson. I had mentioned the saying I wanted, but couldn't decide what I wanted the sign to look like. I LOVE my final decision, and it is displayed in the hallway of our home just outside my bedroom door. It is a constant reminder to me that though some days the heartache seems too much to bear, that God has not forgotten me or Carson. It is a reminder to me that my son is safe and happy in the arms of Jesus. I still miss him every moment of every day, but I have no doubts that he is with Jesus!

I love it!!

I hope you all have a blessed Monday...and take a minute to speak words of gratitude to those around you, and to the Father, from whom all blessings flow!

So very sorry about your teeth -- there is little pain that compares to tooth pain! Ouch!

Love the signs, love the turkeys! How precious!

I love those turkeys! Such a great idea (which I plan to borrow for next year)! You're such a creative Mommy. I also love the "Love Rule". Your signs are beautiful.
