Everything Under the Son

Because JESUS is my everything

Arming for Battle

This morning in worship, our preacher spoke of God. He spoke of how we need a deep, personal relationship with God, and a heart filled with scripture to withstand Satan and his attempts to get us down. Jesus used this method as He was tempted on this earth. We know that because of His personal relationship with the Father, one filled with prayer, he was able to stand strong.

Satan knows when we are weak. He knows when we are not having our daily time with the Lord. He knows when we are not reading, studying, and praying as we should. He knows that when these things are not present, we are a prime target for his temptation, and he pounces on us with all of his might.

Trust me, this I know. Satan knows my weakness, and uses it to his advantage every time. He knows when I am struggling, and he likes to get me when I am down. He knows when life seems too much to bear, and he lurks waiting for the perfect moment to shift my eyes from the only One who can help. He is always watching, seeking to devour me, and come between my God and I.

So today, as the world seems to be spinning all around me and I feel so out of control, I will take it the One who loves me, the One who made me, and the One who longs to be my go-to guy. I will spend time in His Word, and I will pray. I will hide God's words away in my heart, and I will resist Satan and his evil ways. I will do as Jesus did...I will deepen my personal relationship with God, and He will carry me through.

Hey girl! Found you from Kellye's website. Enjoyed checking out your posts. I'm living in Hershey, PA now, but it's just for a few years until we're back in Texas. :) I miss seeing ACU people in random places. 7 years is great!!! Chad and my anniversary is tomorrow for 2 wonderful years! No kids yet. Ha!

Not in any relation to this post... you must have been the one who bought the 4t at Dillards. I fell in the love with the dress but Dillards didn't have Morgan's size. I actually found that one for $10 cheaper in Canton. Have you been? You'll have to go with us next time! It was so much fun and we all got some great deals!

Hi my friend. Love your inspirational posts as always. Something happens to me physically when I struggle with sin. I get sick. Not cough, fever sick. But this sickening inner termoil. It's a good sign that if it's making me sick I'd better get help, (spiritual help) and quick. My body speaks to me when I don't listen otherwise. Thanks for reminding me to read my word today. Today I am actually sick with the fever and haven't opened my bible. But while I'm laid up in bed I'd better before I get "sick" in a different way.

Love ya, Lindi

This is so true!! Have you done the Beth Moore "Breaking Free" study? It goes through exactly what you wrote about. It was awesome and such an eye-opener for me. I am now more aware of my weaknesses and how Satan uses them to try to bring me down. Thanks for the comment on my post about our sickness. I was beginning to feel like a horrible mom for not giving my kids the flu shot (another one of Satan's attacks!). BTW, you are a very gifted writer!
