Sick

Sunday, January 20, 2008

That's what we are around here...sick. Thursday included a trip to the doctor for little Levi, and ended with an antibiotic. He has had fever since then, and last night it was back up to 103*. After talking to the on-call doctor, we were able to get the fever down, and though he still has a low grade fever, he seems to be on the mend. It was so sad to watch him over the weekend. He is a busy-body and is not one to simply sit and snuggle. This weekend, however, he was content to just sit and be held. He felt terrible and it was obvious. So very sad.

Today, Natalie has had a slight fever, but hopefully we have been able to fend off whatever germs are hanging around, and she will be good as new soon! I cannot wait for some consistent weather! This cold-then-hot-then-cold is really doing a number on my kids.

This afternoon I was able to escape for a few hours to attend my OAM (once-a-month) cooking extravaganza! It was wonderful to spend some time with 'the girls' assembling meals to be frozen for the month. I came home with 10 meals and now my freezer is stocked! The recipes range from Taco Soup to Zucchini Meatloaf to Tater Tot Casserole to Pesto Chicken Tortellini. MMM! I can't wait to start cooking them up during the week. I already feel the load is a little lighter just knowing that the prep work is done!

On a different note, the sermon at church this morning was wonderful and oh-so-thought-provoking. I still have much reading and thinking to do before I make any comments, but I want to ask you the question that was posed to us:

Do you want to be healed?

No physically, but spiritually. Do you want healing from your sin?

Well, of course we missed church but made it to class. I'm glad to hear it was thought provoking. I'd love to hear more about it. Class was great too. I'll have to post about that another time.
Sorry about the icky illness. Hope your all running at full speed.

i am so sorry that your kiddos have been sick. we have been there and it is not fun. i cant wait to hear more about the sermon. Lord, i want to be healed!!! Sounds awesome... it is powerful to admit that we want and NEED to be healed. Christ is the great physician... You have me very curious!

I am praying your kiddos get better quick. Nothing makes a mommy more worried than a sick baby (even if that baby is 23 years old!).

YES! I want to be healed! I loved the lesson yesterday morning. It really made me see what I need to work on to become a better Christian. It amazes me how well Phil speaks directly to me every week.

Could you post the recipes for those wonderful sounding meals? I could use some good freezer-prep recipes that still taste good when you cook them.

I was so glad to have that account cleared up. When we were reading it, I all I could think of was that guy was a whiner! He needed to get on board! And, of course, the whole "stop sinning" always confused me.

Whew! I really love Phil's preaching, too and he hit it outta the park yesterday. I kinda wanted Kenny to hear the mini-sermon from the baptistry, too.

Amen! Yesterday's sermon was great - and thought provoking. I thought it was a modern flaw that we finger point and say "it's not my fault" "he made me do it" "no one ever told me". Now, we know it's a sin to act that way.

Heal me!
