In just a few short weeks, it will once again be time for the children's consignment sale that I work twice a year. I will put in lots of long but FUN hours working the sale, and I will also have all of my children's winter wardrobe from last year, priced and selling! It is so nice to make some money...and the money we make from the fall sale automatically becomes our Christmas budget, so I am hoping for people to love my stuff and buy, buy, buy!

Part of the sale is all of the work beforehand; sorting, pricing, tagging, hanging, and ironing. I really isn't so bad, but I always seem to make such a big mess while I am working on it. I am sure there is a better way, but I have yet to find it, and this mess works for me right now so I am sticking with it :) The part that keeps me going is knowing that it is all worth it when I see my things selling, and I know that within a couple of weeks after the sale, I will be getting that check in the mail! Definitely worth it!

Anyway...I thought I would give you a glimpse of what my dining room has become last week:

And in all honesty, these photos show less than half of the stuff I have to finish getting ready! Whew! Lots of work, but OH.SO.FUN! I know, I must be crazy!

And this, my dear friends, is Levi's favorite part of the process...HANGERS!
He thinks that a tub of hangers to play with is his own little slice of heaven on Earth.

And, while I was busy working on my consignment stuff, this is what was building up for me on top of the bed:

The Clean Clothes Mountain!

Yes, friends, all of these clothes were clean, freshly washed and dried by yours truly, but I was so busy working in the dining room, that I had yet to get around to folding, hanging, ironing and putting away!

I am happy to report that the dining room is back to normal...some mail and the diaper bag perched on the table, but all consignment stuff is currently put away. No, I am not quite finished, but I am definitely making good progress.

I am also happy to report that all of that clean laundry you saw is now in it's home...with the exception of anything that has since been worn, which is now hanging out in the hamper waiting for some attention this afternoon!

So yea for a clean dining room, yea for a cleaned off and freshly made bed, yea for a tiny piece of order during this crazy back-to-school/consignment sale/labor-day weekend/weather ever-changing season! I love it!

I'm off to pop in a load of laundry and then sit for a game of cards with Natalie while Levi finishes his nap! The sounds of the washing machine, the scent of anti-bacterial wipes, and the laughter of one adorable little girl will fill the air!

God is so good!

I got your link to your blog from mine. I'm so glad I got to talk to you and know you better in Target (of all places). You have such amazing faith. I'm adding your link to my blog if that's ok.

Got your comment!
So good to hear from you! Yes, I remember you, sweet Anne! We had heard through the grapevine that you and Nathaniel married. Are you still living in A-town? Your children are precious! I hope to hear your story soon. God is so faithful among life's trials and I can tell you are a witness to that. May He continue to bless you and your family as you seek Him. Love to you!
